Job Elements: -
• Lead and develop a team of multi disciplined engineering technicians on a shift basis.
• Operate as part of the Shift Team to hit Shift and 24 hr performance targets.
• Provide hands on technical support to the shift engineering and production teams .
• Allocate resources efficiently and effectively to support production and meet the requirements of the engineering work load
• Manage contractors and other technical support
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and support ‘site change’ activities
• Develop direct reports and front line teams by identifying development needs and implementing effective solutions
The ideal candidate will have:
• Time served (Electrical/Multi-skilled).
• Educated to HNC standard (or equivalent) as a minimum level (mechatronics or electrical).
• Post apprenticeship experience preferably gained in a high volume manufacturing environment
• Leadership skills. Experience of leading a team of engineering technicians supported by a recognised supervisory qualification eg NEBSM certificate or equivalent
• Proven practitioner of preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, problem solving and continuous improvement skills. Proven ability in diagnostic fault finding under pressure. Familiar with TPM principles including 5S
• Experience of Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC systems and servo control systems.
• Experience of SAP would be an advantage
