Assess existing subcontract base, supplier selection, development and removal from supply list in line with the supplier rationalisation programme.
Develop Purchasing KPI’s including schedule adherence, overdue purchase orders, and overdue requisitions and purchase price variance.
Develop team working and multi-tasking skills within the Function to maximise labour efficiencies.
Create and maintain a cost database, which includes all current and past products for use in bids and estimates.
Support the New Product Introduction process alongside key functions of the business.
Manage personal development of key individuals within the Purchasing Function to ensure a strong motivated team is in place.
Previous experience in senior supply chain or procurement role and in line management.
Background in electronics and electromechanical manufacturing.
Experience in working with product having a high technical content manufactured in low volume, high value batch production environment.
Experience with change management and setting up new procurement systems.
Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
ONC/HNC Elect/ or Mech. engineering.
