    SUMMARY OF KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:-
    To validate either by analysis and/or by physical testing, product design improvements or new product designs
    and where necessary propose changes to the product design in order to meet the required specifications
    To assist, perform or participate in team projects in a profession manner to ensure objectives are achieved to
    schedule and within budget.
    To assist in the drive for new product and engineering changes through definition and validation to product release.
    To work concurrently with purchasing and manufacturing to ensure repeatable and reliable manufacture,
    assembly and operation by supporting them with general engineering and product design advice and information
    that may assist their more effective manufacture and inspection/test tasks.
    Either under the direction of other members of the design team or as part of a team to investigate and report on
    product performance in terms of field performance and in-house testing in order to meet customer/application/market needs
    As required to investigate product failures, field and customer concerns in a focused and methodical manner to ensure
    root cause is correctly identified and appropriate corrective actions are initiated.
    To ensure where appropriate that product life cycle information is fed into service manual and planned maintenance
    schedules, FMEA and other relevant documentation.
    To participate in the company’s review, assessment and prioritisation of product design tasks/projects.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
    Formal Academic Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
    Educated to at least Degree Level
    Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have undertaken personal professional development
    during their career


    EXPERIENCE
    Minimum of 3 years Design/Test experience with responsibility for Analysis/Validation of strength,
    performance & reliability of high stress steel parts subject to high cyclic operation and their assemblies
    It is essential that the candidate has experience of working with Solid Models and FE Analysis Tools and
    spreadsheet packages for Engineering applications
