Graduate Management Trainees – commencing September 2009

To help us achieve this we have a fleet of 116 trains covering a route of over 1,009 miles, supported by 2,000 employees. We operate 910 services a day on weekdays, resulting in our trains travelling 13.7 million miles each year. On average, our services handle around 60,000 passenger journeys a day, with the ability to carry over 12,000 customers at any one time. We operate 237 stations throughout England and Wales of which 53 are currently staffed.
We're looking for graduates with flexibility, passion and charisma to join our management training programme. We'll equip you with the skills and provide you with the practical experience to become a manager of the future.
You'll get to see everything from timetabling to train driving; fleet to finance; safety to service and personnel to pricing - plus everything else in between. You'll have plenty of exposure to everyday challenges that develop in a fast paced, customer focused business like ours. If that's not enough, you'll spend time in another Arriva business, two weeks with an Arriva business in Europe and have your own mentor to keep you on track with your own personal development plan.
Of course you will need to travel and won't mind staying away. In return we'll pay you a starting salary of £22,500, enter you into our pension scheme and provide a travel card that will entitle you to free travel on all our trains.
We're looking for one Engineer and one General Management trainee.
For the Engineering position, we require a minimum of a 2:2 in any Engineering discipline and for the General Management vacancy, applicants should have a minimum of a 2:2 in any discipline.
