The Role:
- To develop and lead the health, safety and environmental systems plant wide.
- Ensure application and enforcement of all company policies and procedures on Health & Safety.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Ensure plant targets and objectives are met – safety, accident analysis, etc.
- Identify, implement and recommend areas for improvement.
- To carry out and report on accident investigations as required.
- Monitor safety data daily, and take appropriate action or highlight when necessary.
- To participate in the training of new personnel, and to carry out site safety inductions.
- Provide advice and support to all departments on health, safety and environmental issues.
- Lead safety committee, and ensure clear consultation is held with all employees.
What the company are seeking in the successful candidate: -
- Looking for someone who has all the core competencies for a stand alone health & safety role i.e. accident investigations, legislation changes and subsequent policy changes / training etc.
- Academic qualification: Degree level education (technical bias) preferred.
- NEBOSH Certificate.
- IOSH membership or equivalent.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental systems.
- Communication and presentation.
- IT abilities.
