• Provide general support to the HR Manager in the formulation and delivery of HR programmes, policies and strategies to ensure the Company has a fully resourced, skilled and motivated workforce to meet current and future needs of the Company.
• Assist the HR Manager in providing best practice advice and information to Managers on all employment matters including employment legislation, Company and union agreements.
• Support and advise managers on the Performance Development Review (PDR) process.
• Advise and support on disciplinary and grievance processes ensuring that procedures are followed.
• Work with line management and Occupation Health to improve sickness absence across the site.
• Co-ordinate the recruitment processes in line with headcount budgets ensuring cost effectiveness and timely resources to meet the needs of the business.
• Actively contribute and where appropriate lead ad hoc HR projects in support of the business objectives
The ideal candidate will have:
• The ideal candidate should be of graduate level, CIPD qualified (or working towards qualification).
• At least 2 - 3 years HR experience in a unionised manufacturing environment.
• Experience of developing and working within Company policies and procedures is necessary along with an understanding of recruitment and selection methods.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills in order to negotiate and convincingly present a case are essential along with the ability to work under pressure to tight and changing deadlines.
• The candidate should have the ability to critically analyse data, and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Packages is essential.
