Are you a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer who is looking for that exciting and challenging next step in your career? Yes... Apply Now! One of our clients is looking to capture an individual like you, an Innovative Mechanical Engineer for their biggest ever tidal project.
We are looking for a candidate who has 10-15 years experience with a significant background in Special Purpose/ heavy engineering Machinery- 2D Design experience is required, 3D would be advantageous.
As this is a new and innovative project, training will be provided to help the successful Mechanical Engineer with the design element of wind/ tidal turbines. The training will involve travel to the companies base in Europe for 2/3 days at a time for the first 2/3 months where they are currently designing machinery from 300KV to 1 Meg = 1000KV watt turbine.

You will be involved in designing the underwater tidal turbines which will include, design of the blade, hub etc. To control the speed of the tidal turbine you will require experience and knowledge of Gear, Cam Shafts, Pulley Design, Breaking and Clutching Systems. Your experience does not't have to be from Tidal Power or Wind Turbine projects, although it would be preferred, Heavy/ special purpose machinery would also be highly relevant.
